Tory Lanez Recovering After Stabbing in California Prison

Canadian rapper Tory Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, is recovering in hospital after being brutally stabbed 14 times by another inmate at California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi on Monday morning.

According to prison officials, the 32-year-old was attacked in his housing unit around 7:20 a.m. and sustained multiple stab wounds to the back, torso, head, and face, resulting in the collapse of both lungs. Emergency first aid was administered by correctional staff before Lanez was transferred to a nearby medical facility for advanced treatment.

A post shared on his Instagram account confirmed the injuries and stated that Lanez had been placed on a breathing machine temporarily. He is now breathing unaided and reportedly in good spirits despite the severity of the injuries. “He’s talking normally and thankful to God for surviving,” the statement read.

Lanez Was Serving a 10-Year Sentence

Lanez is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence after being convicted in 2023 for shooting rapper Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. The shooting occurred following an argument after a party at Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood mansion. During the incident, Megan, whose real name is Megan Pete, was shot in the foot and required surgery to remove bullet fragments.

Though Megan testified in court about the shooting, Lanez has denied the charges, refused to apologize, and maintains his innocence to this day.

Investigation Underway

Prison officials have launched an investigation into the motive behind the violent stabbing. Authorities have not yet released any information about the suspect involved or potential reasons for the attack.

Controversial Trial and Fan Division

Lanez’s conviction sparked widespread debate within the hip-hop community. High-profile artists such as 50 Cent and Iggy Azalea voiced support for the rapper, even requesting leniency during sentencing.

Prior to his imprisonment, Lanez had enjoyed a successful career, with seven top 10 albums in the U.S. He recently teased a new project titled “Peterson”, reportedly being developed from behind bars.

Conclusion

The stabbing has shocked fans and reignited public interest in Lanez’s controversial case. As investigations continue, his recovery remains the primary focus. The incident has also raised broader concerns about inmate safety and violence within U.S. correctional facilities.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcIb-aZkI1w
