Canada’s Shapovalov Cruises to Victory in Los Cabos
Denis Shapovalov of Richmond Hill, Ontario, advanced to the tennis Mifel Tennis Open quarterfinals after defeating American Govind Nanda 6-1, 6-2 in the second round on Wednesday.
The match lasted just one hour.
Shapovalov recorded four aces and three double faults. He broke his opponent five times out of seven opportunities and won 73% of his first-serve points.
Nanda hit one ace and had one double fault. He broke serve only once from four chances and won 57% of his first-serve points.
Shapovalov, seeded third, will face either Australia’s Tristan Schoolkate or Germany’s Daniel Altmaier in the quarterfinals.
